Laura has over 15 years of professional experience in architecture and interior design. Throughout her career she has served as designer, project architect and project manager in a range of design firms. While at Cornell University she interned at HLW International in New York. She then moved to Boston to practice before going back to school to earn a Masters Degree from the University of Virginia. Richmond, Virginia was home for many years as well as Blacksburg, Virginia and now Raleigh, North Carolina. The work in her portfolio ranges not only in location but also in scale and scope: from $10,000 residential additions to $34,000,000 public high schools.
Laura’s strengths are a mix of design excellence and effective client relations. Working in regionally-diverse areas of the country with a variety of user groups, she has developed a dynamic, receptive approach to client communication. Laura also has a keen ability to find design opportunities in every project: design opportunities that celebrate the human spirit and heighten one's awareness of the built environment - within the constraints of budget and schedule.
Laura is currently teaching as an assistant professor at Hampton University.
