studio | battaglia was started by Laura and Paul Battaglia in 2010. Together we have over 40 years of combined experience in architecture and design, and have successfully built projects in places as diverse as Boston, Massachusetts and Floyd, Virginia.
We provide insight, inspiration and professional expertise to a wide range of architecturally-oriented problems. Although we have extensive experience in designing new buildings, we have a particular passion for projects which re-envision and re-construct. In this era of heightened awareness of environmental responsibility, we feel that it is most often better to breathe new life into existing structures than to build new.
We also have a passion for teaching. Teaching allows us to stay fresh in our ideas and committed to a process of design that is reflective of the creative and intellectually stimulating setting found in the academic environment.
